Admissions Requirements

Sober living requirements in Houston.

Learn who is a fit for Aspire Recovery Homes, what residents are expected to do, whether treatment is required, and how the sober living application process works.

Who is a good fit for Aspire?

Aspire Recovery Homes is built for adults who want structured sober living in Houston and are willing to participate in the daily routines that protect recovery. You do not need to have everything figured out before you call. You do need to be honest, willing, and ready to live in a sober home with accountability.

Basic sober living requirements

  • Commitment to sobriety. Residents must be willing to remain drug- and alcohol-free.
  • Willingness to follow house rules. Curfew, testing, chores, meetings, and guest policies are part of the home.
  • Ability to live in shared housing. Residents share rooms, common areas, responsibilities, and community expectations.
  • Recovery participation. Residents attend recovery meetings and work toward sponsorship or other recovery supports.
  • Productive daily structure. Work, school, outpatient treatment, volunteering, or active job search is expected.
  • Respect for other residents. The home depends on honesty, communication, and basic respect.

Do you need clean time before moving in?

It depends on the situation. Aspire considers residents coming from detox, residential treatment, PHP, IOP, jail, and the community. The question is not only how many days sober you have. The question is whether the home can safely support you and whether you are ready for the structure.

Do you need outpatient treatment?

Outpatient treatment is not always required, but it is often the right move after detox, rehab, or relapse. Many Aspire residents attend PHP, IOP, SOP, or aftercare while living in the home. Aspire is not a treatment center, but we coordinate with reputable treatment programs across Houston.

Who may not be a fit?

Aspire is not a medical facility, detox, psychiatric hospital, or crisis stabilization program. Someone who needs 24/7 medical monitoring, active withdrawal management, or a higher level of clinical care may need treatment first. If you are unsure, call us and we will help you think through the safest next step.
